Sr. Director, Podcasts at CNN / WBD (New York)

Work Mode: In-person (30 Hudson Yards, NY). CNN is seeking a Senior Director of Podcasts to lead the evolution of its portfolio during a pivotal transformation. This leadership role focuses on overseeing strategy, development, and production with a strong emphasis on video-first formats.

The Senior Director of Podcasts will guide a portfolio of flagship news, franchise, and personality-driven shows; raise creative and production standards; and ensure that CNN’s podcasts are distinctive, audience-focused, and commercially viable. This leader will work closely with CNN talent, newsroom leadership, and commercial teams to ensure podcasts play a central role in CNN’s broader strategy.

Your Role Accountabilities

• Set and execute the editorial vision for CNN Podcasts across video and audio.
• Lead the expansion of video podcasts, ensuring production value and format reflect CNN’s strength.
• Oversee staffing models, workflows, schedules, and budgets across the slate.
• Lead, mentor, and develop producers and editors in a collaborative culture.
• Use audience insight and performance data to inform content decisions and growth.

Qualifications & Experience

• 15+ years of experience in video journalism and podcasting with significant editorial responsibility.
• Proven experience developing and managing successful video-forward formats.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing creative teams in a newsroom or studio environment.
• Strong editorial judgment and understanding of global news and audience behavior.
• Experience with distribution platforms including YouTube, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.

Compensation & Benefits
